Ms. Leslie Weaver gained her Heavenly wings and flew into the Kingdom of Heaven on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the age of 61 years. She was born July 7, 1953 in Saginaw, Michigan to William and Alice (Hall) Jones.
Leslie was a 1971 graduate of Saginaw High School. She received a Bachelors Degree in Business from Central Michigan University. Leslie was a faithful member of Bethel AME Church since childhood, currently under the leadership of Pastor P. David Saunders. She received the call to minister Gods word in 1986. Leslie retired from the City of Saginaw in 2005 after many years of service. She enjoyed cooking, mentoring, ministering Gods word and spending time with her grandchildren. Leslie was a loving, genuine, strong God-fearing woman who was truly a blessing to all who knew her. Her presence will be missed.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory four children, Leshonda (Cedric) Wilson and Leon Weaver Jr. both of Saginaw, Michigan, Ahmard Weaver of Atlanta, Georgia; a special daughter, Kemberly Parham of Saginaw, Michigan; grandchildren, Quintoria, Ahmarie, Akilah, Amiyah, Emani, Ahlana, Ronyae, Josh, Ahmard Jr. and Londyn; seven godchildren, Julie Polk, Teleitha Pruitt, Myesha Crockett, Chermese Smith, Crystal and Tierra Franklin, Tiervares Parham Jr.; three brothers, Lloyd D. (Cathy) Jones of Norcross, Georgia, William H. (Roberta) Jones of Saginaw, Michigan and Kevin L. (Delores) Jones of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; many nieces and nephews who all were special and loved equally; special sisters-in-law, Roberta, Delores and Cynthia Marie Jones, Berniece Lunnie and Marie Jackson; many other relatives and friends including her special friends, Grace Woodson, the King family, Emma Haines, Pam Monroe, Cheri Smith, Cucille Banks, Ola McMillian, Gena Amos, John Hicks, Beverly Willis, Barbara Jenkins, Mary L. Jackson, Alice Eichelberger, Eunice Harris, Johnetta Wilson, her ex-husband and father of her children, Leon Weaver Sr.
Leslie was preceded in death by her parents, William and Alice Jones, her grandparents, one son, William Paul Weaver, one brother, Michael Vincent Jones, one great-niece, Skye Jones; grand-daughter, Layla Jones, many aunts and uncles, her special friends, Mary Haynes, Elizabeth Taybron and Bev Bradley.
