Lavern "Levon" Kennedy Cork

Our beloved son, father, brother and uncle went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at the age of 85 years. Mr. Lavern Kennedy Cork, affectionately known as “Levon” was born September 12, 1936 in Ackerman, Mississippi to Odie V. Sr. and Doreather Cork.

Mr. Cork relocated to Saginaw, Michigan where he was employed by General Motors Corporation. He married the love of his life, Mary Alice Brandon-Cork. She preceded him in death on October 23, 2012.

Levon was a faithful member of the Bethel A.M.E. Church. He enjoyed attending worship service. He loved fishing and watching westerns. Levon always had a kind word and a humble spirit.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Doreather Cork; one daughter, Cynthia Cork, Westland, Michigan; one sister, Mary Helen Cork-Robinson, Saginaw, Michigan; four brothers, Odie V. (Doris) Cork, Jr., Sacramento, California, Charles (Kathy) Cork, Billy (Karen) Cork, Willie Dean Cork, Saginaw, Michigan; stepchildren, Michael Kincaid, Darren (Duchell) Kincaid, Victor Mosley, Jamarrel Brandon, Arnetta Jackson, Keshia Odims, Trina Mosley and Tomeka Stephens; sister-in-law, Brenda Johnson; nieces and nephews, Ronalda Sullivan, Victor (Noemi) Cork, Bridgett Cork, Sebrina (Charles) Thornton, Phaedra (Lance) Walters, Charles (Marlana) Cork, Kendra Cork, Christopher Cork, Shyvonne (Timothy) Hammond, Brandon (Danielle) Cork, Brent Cork, DeMarion (Felicia) Cork; a host of cousins, relatives and friends.

Levon was preceded in death by his father, Odie V. Cork, Sr., mother-in-law, Luedean Jackson, brother-in-law, Rev. Clevion Robinson.
