Larry T. Foster

December 8, 1955 — October 18, 2019

Larry Tonette Foster, our Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and Cousin, went home to be with the Lord October 18, 2019 at Huntsville Hospital surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 63. He was born December 8, 1955 in Saginaw, Michigan.

Larry was a graduate of Saginaw High School, “Class of 1974”, where he was an all-star athlete and held a 45 year record for long jump. He received a full football scholarship to Northern Illinois University. He loved getting up early in the morning listening to music and although he loved all types of music, he favored James Brown. His favorite sayings were “ I rebuke you in the name of Jesus” and "One time, Two times!" as he was always the life of the party.

Larry loved to dance and cook all types of food, with his favorite being gumbo. He also enjoyed calling his family members all day long. Nothing was more important to him than his family, from immediate to extended to friends of the family, he loved us all.

Larry was well traveled over the course of his life. He resided in Saginaw, Buffalo, Dallas, New Orleans, Atlanta, Kansas City, and Alabama. He was diagnosed with Stage IV Prostate and Bone Cancer in 2015 but he was a fighter and kicked Cancers butt. He was excited to ring the earthly Cancer free bell in 2019 but he rang Heavens bell instead.

His memories will be cherished by his partner Laura Battle; children, Toukisha (Omar) Foster, Eugenia (Ontay) Johnson, Touvonna Foster; grandchildren, Tyler and Kennedy Foster, Omar Young Jr., Yolanda, Hezekiah and Hannah Johnson, Gabriela and Elissa Ulloa; great-grandchildren, Remington Stevens, Tayden Johnson; siblings, Anthony Foster, Patricia (Kenneth) King; nieces and nephews, Demetria (Jonathan) Foster, Anissa (Tyrone) Foster, LaToya Foster, Arthur (Christine) Richardson, Pamela (Christopher) Brown, Ashante Foster; fourteen great-nieces and nephews; nineteen great-great nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles, Louis (Maxine) Foster, Carolyn Foster, Willie Foster, Willie (Sandra) Foster, Larry (Patricia) Foster, Glen Foster, Michelle Foster, who all held a special place in his heart; special cousins, Tracy (John), Vincent (Donna), Kevin (Nancy) Breckenridge, Sabrina Sullivan, Ricky (Ruth) Foster, Leonard (Shirley) Stewart, who grew up together like siblings; Carlissa Davis; and special friends, Loretta Hicks, Michael, Billy and Shawn.
