Larry Goodman, Sr.

"The only good man in Saginaw!"

Mr. Larry McKinnley Goodman, Sr. departed his earthly life on Friday, February 9, 2018 at his residence at the age of 56 years. He was born on April 26, 1961 in Saginaw, Michigan to the great Wardell and Zemira Goodman.

Larry graduated from Buena Vista High School “Class of 1979” and shortly after, joined the United States Air Force. While serving, he received accommodations for conduct, service longevity, and tours of duty overseas. Larry enjoyed fishing, playing chess and listening to smooth jazz and R&B. When he wasn’t engaging in his favorite hobbies, Larry could be found around the neighborhood relaxing with his brothers and friends. Although he was a man of few words, his presence was always felt. Larry carried himself with integrity and pride. His unique personality and essence will surely be missed.

He leaves to cherish his memory three children, Lareesha Goodman, Washington, D.C., Chartelle Lee, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Larry Goodman, Jr., Saginaw, Michigan; best friend and former wife, Frances Goodman, Washington, D.C.; five sisters, Catherine and Theresa Goodman, Joanne (Clarence) West and Yvonne Goodman-Reed, all of Saginaw, Michigan; Joyce Goodman, Stone Mountain, Georgia; three brothers, Jerry and George Goodman, Saginaw, Michigan, Leo (Sharon) Goodman, Charlotte, North Carolina; several nieces, nephews and cousins; two uncles, Jeremiah (Cathy) Martin, and Earl Martin; special friend, Angie Beavers.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Wardell and Zemira Goodman; grandparents, Leola and William Martin and “Queen Goodman; three brothers, Wardell Jr., Jimmie and Robert Goodman; two great-nieces and two great-nephews, Demarris, Jerrilynn, SteVon and Dontae Goodman; one brother-in-law, John Reed, Sr. two aunts and seven uncles.
