Ketrick Turner

February 17, 1975 — February 6, 2020

Mr. Ketrick Kluvanne Turner was born February 17, 1975 in Bolivar County, Shaw, Mississippi to Curtis Richard and Dorothy Jean Johnson Turner. He departed this life on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at age 44 years.

Ketrick’s family relocated to Saginaw, Michigan while he was young, making Saginaw his home of remembrance and where he resided until his untimely passing. He united with Christ Community Church as a child, under the leadership of the late Pastor William D. Aldridge, Sr. Ketrick was a graduate of Saginaw High School, “Class of 1993.” He went on to work at Admiral Gas Station on Dixie Highway for many years until his health declined.

Ketrick was a strong and courageous man who was able to find enjoyment in life despite his many health challenges. His smile and laughter were infectious, and he always kept his family and friends encouraged. He found pleasure in spending quality time with his children and enjoying his hobbies, which included Legos, wrestling and video games.

Our beloved brother, father, uncle, nephew and friend has found sweet rest in the arms of Jesus and we are forever grateful for the forty-four years we had with him.

Ketrick was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Richard and Dorothy Jean Johnson Turner; grandparents, Johnnie C. and Ethel Johnson, Johnnie and Sarah Richard.

He leaves to cherish his memory five children, Aleeha Turner, Antonio Turner, both of Big Rapids, Michigan, Layla Schweinberg, Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Devon and Ke’Asia Cherry, Saginaw, Michigan; sisters, Cynthia Johnson, Saginaw, Michigan, Sharon Johnson, Clinton Township, Michigan; brother, Curtis Johnson, Saginaw, Michigan; twelve nieces and nephews from whom he firmly believed in collecting his “Uncle Taxes”, John, Antania, Andy, Journey, DorJean (Avery), Sherida, Patience, Carisma, LaDora, Sabria, Curtis, Useni; great-niece, Nala; great-nephews, Khari and Maurice; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends, including a special family friend, George Steward.

The family would like to express special thanks to Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
