Kerry Owens (Lansing)

Ms. Kerry V. L. Owens passed away Monday, August 2, 2021, at her residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 62 years. She was born February 21, 1959, in Nashville, Tennessee, to parents, Martin Ridley and Margie Quarles.

In 1968 Kerry’s mother moved them here to Lansing, Michigan, where she would reside the most of her life. She attended Walter French High School.

Kerry enjoyed watching her stories and drinking beer.

She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Eric L. Owens (Barbara Smith); daughter, Kizzy L. Owens (Forcie Wyrick); grandchildren, Kendra Stid, Alvin Benson, Jr., Tier (Deonte) Davis, and Ja’Vonne Owens; great grandchildren, Alivia Benson, Jeremiah Benson, Devonte Davis, Jr., Idol Davis, Jayden Williams, and Khye Benson; stepfather, John McClain, Sr.; sisters, LuWanda McClain, Jannett McClain (Homer Jones), Dionne (Gordon) McClain-Smith, and Carlotta Davis; brothers, Kenneth Puckett, and Marcus Hatcher; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many other relatives and friends, including special friends, Ralph Hopkins and William Ryan.

Kerry was preceded in death by father, Martin Ridley; mother, Margie Quarles; granddaughter, Destiny Owens; great granddaughter, Taigen Davis; sister, Joanne McClain; brother, John McClain, Jr.; and several aunts and uncles.
