On August 2, 2016, the Lord sent his angels to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan to call our beloved son, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Kenneth Wayne Benn from labor to reward, at the age of 58 years. He was born on July 31, 1958 in Turrell, Arkansas to David Brown, Jr. and Barbara Brown.
Kenneth was a resident of Lansing, Michigan. He lived on Blackcat Plantation until the age of two years. He then moved to Buffalo, New York and from there to Lansing, Michigan at the age of 16 years. He attended Public School #8 and 78, later receiving his high school diploma in Jackson, Michigan. As a youth, Kenneth attended Refuge Temple in Buffalo, New York under the leadership of Bishop N.V. Jones. Most recently, Kenneth attended church services at The Advent House Ministries and Eleizer Temple of Lansing, Michigan. He was united in marriage to Sandra who preceded him in death. Kenneth enjoyed reading, playing chess and cards, and he was a great basketball player. He also loved music, especially the oldies. Kenneth held various jobs in the City of Lansing.
Kenneth leaves to cherish many special memories a son, Kenneth Wayne (Sherry) Benn, Jr.; grandchildren, Kenneth Wayne Benn, III and Scherrion Sandra Lynn Benn; four sisters Brenda Benn, Sandra (Jerry) Pitts, April Brown and Tabatha Brown; one brother, Fernando (Cynthia) Brown, all of Lansing, Michigan; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
