Juanita "Jeanne" Clemmons(Velasquez) (Lansing)

Ms. Juanita "Jeanne” Clemmons (Velasquez) passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Age 77 years. She was born October 16, 1939 in Jackson, Michigan to Felipe and Maria Velasquez.

Ms. Clemmons attended Eastern High School. She was the oldest of 15 to graduate. She also attended St. Mary’s Cathedral. Juanita retired from the State of Michigan. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, crocheting, and spending lots of time with her grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Family was everything to her. Juanita was a very loving person who was always thinking of others before herself.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters and three sons, Leon (Tony) Clemmons and Christina Clemmons, Lansing Michigan, Jeffery (Shannon) Clemmons, Novi, Michigan, John Clemmons, Harrison, Michigan, Landria (William) Watts, Sterling Heights, Michigan; one step-son, Leon Clemmons, II; one stepdaughter, Leona Clemmons; grandchildren, Nateysha Harris, John Robert Clemmons, Alexander Crenshaw, Michael Clemmons, Nichole (Shawn) Adkins, Kyle Clemmons, Christian Clemmons, Alexis Clemmons, Devante Henry Clemmons, Sajil Watts, Legacy Watts, Sophia Clemmons; great-grandchildren, Kyree Crenshaw, Jaxson Clemmons, Michael Adkins; nine sisters, Petra (Dolphus) Hall, Mari Velasquez, Alicia Crenshaw, Sylvia Velasquez, Erlinda (Jorge) Colon, Dolores Velasquez, Rose (Bernard) Brown, Teresa Velasquez and Lisa (Ivy) Davis; four brothers, Juan (Sally) Velasquez, Domingo (Choi) Velasquez, Felipe (Mary Alice) Velasquez, II, Aurelio Velasquez (Dale Duby); many nieces and nephews; aunt, Sylvia Bullard, Pensacola, Florida; a host of cousins; three sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law; many other relatives and friends; special friends, Donna Christian, Nancy Battige and Delores Clemmons.

Ms.Clemons was preceded in death by her parents, Felipe and Maria Velasquez; sister, Santos Pearl, grandparents, Aurelio and Petra Rodriquez, and a special nephew, Ivy Davis, Jr.
