Our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather departed this life on May 5, 2020. Joseph Jackson Jr. was born June 11, 1937 in Lasalle Louisiana, the oldest son of Joseph and Laura Jackson.

Joseph and his family moved to Saginaw, Michigan when he was still young. He became employed by General Motors Malleable Iron Foundry and worked for thirty years until his health failed him. Joseph loved fishing, gardening, cooking, and spending time with his family.

Joseph was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vera L Jackson; daughter, Constance Jackson; grandson, Jerail Jackson; brother Henry Jackson; stepdaughter Phyllis Smith; father and mother-in-law, Eddie Sr. and Lillie E. Thomas; brothers-in-law, Larnell Thomas, Eddie Thomas Jr. and Fred Williams; sisters-in-law, Edna B. Williams, Mary Ellis; son-in-law, Timothy Surles; godson, Odell Abraham.

He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Venolian Elaine Jackson, Antinella Surles, Saginaw, Michigan; stepdaughter, Emma (David) Thompson, Orange Texas; four sons, Calvin Thomas, Joseph IV (Demetria) Jackson, Bernard and Michael Jackson, Saginaw, Michigan; two sisters, Jatreen Jackson, Gloria Howard, Jena, Louisiana; three brothers, Monroe, Melvin and Marvin Jackson, Jena, Louisiana; godsons, Paul Soloman, Jacques Blackwell, and Kenneth Morris; goddaughters, Mary Swilley, Mary Ball and Michelle McKinley; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family of Joseph Jackson Jr. would like to express special thanks to all our family and friends, Grace Hospice of Michigan, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
