Mr. John Earlie Williams passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 at St. Marys of Michigan Medical Center. Age 79 years. He was born May 2, 1935 in Scotts, Mississippi to Mae-Ester and John Williams.
John was a member of Bethlehem Temple Church under the leadership of Pastor Curtis Johnson. He retired from General Motors after 42 years of service. John enjoyed playing the guitar. He loved spending time with family and friends. His presence will be truly missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 54 years, Maebell Williams; five sons, Roddrick (Dora) Williams, John Jr. (Renae) Williams, Van Williams, Lamane (Donnette) Williams of Alexandria, Virginia and Toney Williams; two special daughter, Olivia Taylor and Cathy; grandchildren, Angela M. Williams (Leon McCray), Gequita Shivers, Isaiah Williams, Kendall Williams and Cody Williams; three great-grandchildren, DMarrius Shivers, JaQuayvion and TraVaeya Shivers; one sister, Leola Washington; one brother, Cleve Ray (Clo) Williams of Chicago, Illinois; one sister-in-law, Toni Porter of Brooklyn, New York; one brother-in-law, Donald Nelson of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; many other relatives and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Mae-Ester and John Williams, five brothers, Saint James Howard, Leroy Williams, William Williams, John Henry Williams and George Edward Williams Sr.
The family wishes to express special thanks to his nephew, Edward Howard Sr. Pee-Wee of Scott, Mississippi and everyone who offered condolences, kind words and prayers.
