Mr. John Dawson Avery Jr. passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at his residence. Age 52 years. He was born January 22, 1962 in Saginaw, Michigan to John Dawson Avery Sr. and Servada Avery.
John was a lifelong resident of Saginaw, Michigan who was a 1979 graduate of Saginaw High School. He loved fishing, basketball, football and talking trash to his family and friends. John was a jokester who had an unforgettable smile and laugh. He had a giving heart. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Taniesha, Daniesha and Tiffany Avery all of Houston, Texas; three sons, Terrance Robertson and Donnie Avery both of Houston, Texas and John Brown of Grand Rapids, Michigan; a host of grandchildren; seven siblings, Shirley A. (Ralph) Culpepper of Saginaw, Michigan, Barbara Bright-Avery of Houston, Texas, Richard Avery of Saginaw, Michigan, Valerie Morris of Houston, Texas, Anita (Mark) Morgan of Houston, Texas, Michael (Beatrice) Avery of Saginaw, Michigan and Pamela Avery of Houston, Texas; his companion, Tracy Morgan; many other relatives and friends including his special friends, Bobby Williams, Kathy Williams and Charlie Shorter.
John was preceded in death by his father, John D. Avery Sr., mother, Servada M. Avery, two brothers, Dwight Gray and Harold Avery, one sister, Carol Mallisham, one sister-in-law, Mary Gray, one nephew, Daniel Morgan.
