Ms. Joanne “Aunt Jan” Lister gained her wings in the early morning hours on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Covenant HealthCare Cooper. She was born November 12, 1963 in Saginaw, Michigan to Charlene Jones and Bobby Bond.
Joanne was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan and a graduate of Saginaw High School, Class of 1982. She was a member of Christ Kingdom Ministries under the leadership of Apostle Edward Jackson. Aunt Jan, as she was affectionately called, loved spending time with family and friends until her health failed. She then took her talents to social media, and she remained a constant figure in all of our lives. Reading, playing games (cards, Pokeno) and doing crossword puzzles brought her great joy, as well as her daily calls to her mom, son, and sister.
She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Charlene Jones; son, Jarvis Lister, Columbus, Ohio; daughter, Shanika Lister-Thomas; grandchildren, Tiara, Sienna, Ambrose, and Adam Thomas, and one on the way; she also leaves her sister, Denise Lister; brother, Derrick Lister Sr; nieces, Keshia Lister, Latramese “Girl” Babers, Paris, Chantal, Tatianna, Ashley and Crystal Lister; nephews, Derrick Lister Jr, Deon, and Princeton Lister; great-nephew, DeJean “Red Man” Lister; aunts, Sara Johnson, Mattie (Apostle Edward) Jackson, Lenalle Shannon, Edna Jones, all of Saginaw, Michigan, and Alice Morgan, Memphis, Tennessee; uncle, Tommie Lee Youngblood, Saginaw, Michigan; the Bond family; many other relatives and friends too many to name, but PLEASE know you were all special to her. Aunt Jan will be greatly missed.
Joanne was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Bond; grandparents, Arthur Lee Sr. and Sara Youngblood; aunts, Gloria Hale, Patricia Youngblood-Swilley, and Joyce Youngblood-Jackson; uncle, Arthur Youngblood Jr; and niece, Charlene Lister.
The family would like to express special thanks to Covenant HealthCare Cooper, Samaritas Senior Living of Saginaw, and Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel
