Jimmie E Almond

Our beloved brother, father, grandfather and friend, Jimmie E. Almond passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper. Age 71 years.Jimmie was born December 26, 1939 in Yazoo City, Mississippi to Tom and Annie Almond.
He retired from Malleable Iron Foundry after 25 years of service. he was a member of UAW Local # 455. He enjoyed being with his family and friends making tamales. He was a great mechanic.
Jimmie leaves to cherish his memories two sons, Jimmie Almond, Jr.of Salt Lake, Utah, Quincy Almond of Saginaw, Michigan; two sisters, Azalee Bladsoe, Lula Butler both of Saginaw, Michigan; five step-children, Tom Wilson, Greg, JoAnne, Artisha, Itonya Goodwine; seven grandchildren; many other relatives and friends, including two special friends, Jeff Beemon and Charles Green; The family would like to express special thanks to Tender Care Nursing Staff and CCU unit at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Vanessa Almond,parents, Tom and Annie Almond,sisters, Hattie Green, Zetra Isom, Zelma and Doll Rolling, a brother, Tommie Almond and step-son, Daniel Shacks.
