Jewel Elizabeth Holmes passed away Friday, July 13, 2012. Age 82 years. She was born May 27, 1930 in Ruston, Louisiana to Charlie T. and Johnnie T. Key.
She was a graduate of the Louisiana School District. Jewel relocated to Saginaw, Michigan where she met and married Robert T. Holmes.
Jewel leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Robert T. Holmes; one daughter, Michelle Lynn Holmes; three stepchildren, Dorthera Gaskew, Loretta Holmes, Eric Morgan; three grandchildren, Jerry, Tashawnda and Brittney; one sister, Gloria Jean (Roosevelt) Thomas; one brother, Grady (Ollie) Key, Louisiana; one step-sister, Maryann, Louisiana; one step-brother, Charles, California; three sisters-in-law, Selvia Holmes, Florence Tyson, Dorothy Robinson, Flint, Michigan; two brothers-in-law, Cleophes Holmes, Udell (Alma) Holmes; one god-daughter, Elaine Brooks,many other relatives and friends including a special friend, Sylvia Vann.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie T. and Johnnie T. Key; two nephews, Jerry and Roosevelt Thomas Jr.; one niece, Deborah Thomas; Harvey, Willie and Charlie Key.
