Mr. Jerome Anthony Mushatt passed away Friday, August 14, 2015 at his residence. Age 32 years. He was born September 4, 1981 in Saginaw, Michigan, the second of two sons born to Annie Marie Johnson and Jeremiah Jelks. Both sons were born on September 4.
Jerome was affiliated with St. Lukes Temple Church under the leadership of Superintendent Absalom Smith. He enjoyed coaching basketball, playing video games, breeding dogs and spending time with family and friends. During the time he lived in Pontiac, Michigan, he loved playing football which he continued to play at Madison High School.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Annie Johnson, father, Jeremiah Jelks; stepfather, Reginald Johnson; grandparents, Reella Mushatt, McKinley Mushatt, Sr., and Gloria Jean Jelks; one sister, Lillian Marie Johnson; three aunts, Ann Jelks, Courtney Melissa Johnson, and Antigua Fonshay Adams; six uncles, Leonard Mushatt, Christopher Mushatt, Bobby Jelks, Phil Jelks, McKinley Mushatt, Jr., and Johnny Jelks; many cousins; numerous other relatives and friends including special aunt, Kimberly Wright, and special friend, Alma Ramon.
Mr. Mushatt was preceded in death by his brother, McKinley Mushatt III, grandfather, L.C. Jelks, great-grandmothers, Minnie Miles and Marie Franklin, great-grandfathers, George Mushatt and George Gilliam.
The family would like to express special thanks to Sandra Morris, Christina Johnson, Christopher Wells and the Talecris family for all their kind words, support and prayers.
