Jeraldine D. Redeemer "G.G."

August 31, 1928 — November 14, 2017

A precious loved one of ours has gone home to be with the Lord. On Tuesday, November 14, 2017, G.G. ascended to her eternal home; her earthly mission was complete at the age of 89 years. She was born on August 31, 1928, in Memphis, Tennessee to George and Sallie Duckett.

Jeraldine accepted Christ at an early age. Jeraldine was a dedicated employee of St. Mary’s Hospital, retiring after twenty-five years of service. She was also one of the founding members of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church where she served actively in the Mother’s Ministry. She loved helping others and listening to music, Mother Redeemer will be truly missed by family and friends.

Known as G.G., by all who knew and loved her, she leaves to cherish loving memories one daughter, Helen Hodge, Saginaw, Michigan; one son, Lester (Janice) Redeemer (Michigan); one stepson, Melvin (Shirley) Redeemer (Tennessee); two godsons, Lloyd and Louis Tinsley, (Michigan); six grandchildren, Erik Redeemer (Florida), Desiree Redeemer (Michigan), LaToya Hodge (Tennessee), Wesumba Redeemer (Colorado), Tabethian Jackson (Colorado) and Shawn Williams (Michigan); eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; two sisters-in-law, Beverly Duckett (Indiana) Lorine Duckett, (Texas); one brother-in-law, Eddie Goodall (Illinois); special friends, Wilbur Moore, Robbie Overstreet, Evelyn Murphy, Lee Ann Smith, Daisy Taylor, and Melrod.

Jeraldine was preceded in death by her parents, George and Sallie Duckett; four sisters, Virgie, Helen, Fannie and Thelma; five brothers, George, Edward, James, Joseph and Napoleon Duckett.

The family would like to express special thanks to Reverend Dr. Willie Hill, Jr. and the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church family; Mother’s Ministry; Covenant Healthcare-Harrison; Select Specialty Unit, and Healthsource.
