James Walker (Lansing)

September 1, 1951 — January 9, 2015

Our beloved James Isaac Walker MOTT departed this life on Friday January 9, 2015. Mott was the 2nd child born to John B. Walker and Bernice Myree Walker in Pinola Mississippi on September 1, 1951.

Mott attended Lansing Public Schools and was a graduate of J. W. Sexton High School. He worked for Trumark Inc. for many years. He was the one everyone called on to fix it. He was Mr. Handy Man. He never faced a job he couldnt accomplish. Mott didnt meet a stranger that he didnt take time out to smile, say hello and spark a conversation with and he was known for his friendliness. He was an excellent roller skater, he loved sports but most of all he was a cross word puzzle fanatic. You could always find him sitting somewhere doing a cross word puzzle.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, daddys girl Doris Dede (Steve Harris) , Valerie (Timothy) Allen, Reginald Duncan, James Money Duncan and Myleeka Spears; His father, John B. Walker Sr. ; His brothers Gary Walker and Jeff Walker; Grand Children, Ryan, Jasmine, Jessica, Ortese, TaMoni, Reginald Jr. (Julianna), James II, Angela, Raymond, Tosja, Kaleb, Shamya, Timothy Jr. and Naomi; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Ortese Jr., Ortasia, Oreyeal and Brycen; nephews, Gary Woo, Jeffrey, Gregory Spud, Joshua, Ahmad Douglas; nieces, Shawneen (James) Murray, Keisha Reid, Tiffany and Kamaria Douglas; special in-laws, Sheila Truvillion, Pastor Cora Duncan, Ann (Thomas) Douglas, special nephews, Keith Duncan and Anthony Duncan; special cousins Richard and Linda Black; Special friend Doris Taylor as well as many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his best friend, love of his life and soul mate Gloria Jean Walker only nine and a half months ago, his mother Bernice Myree Walker and his brother John B. Walker Jr.

Special thank you to Gwen Johnson Hilliard for being a friend to my dad during his final months, his landlord Helen Boahbedason for looking out for my dad and Rev. Toni Brooke-Brown of Detroit Michigan for her daily faithfulness in praying for my dad.
