James Thompson, Sr. "Bug"

October 29, 1942 — July 11, 2021

Mr. James H. Thompson, Sr., lovingly called “Bug,” was called into eternal rest on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at the age of 78 years. He was born October 29, 1942 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Jimmie Thompson and Ethel M. Williams.

James was a graduate of Saginaw High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Armed Forces and served his country. He was honorably discharged and respected as a veteran. Upon returning to civilian life, James became employed with Saginaw Steering Gear, and later, ABS, where he worked until his retirement. His hobbies included watching cowboy, army, and Star Trek movies.

His life will always be celebrated by his children, James Thompson Jr., Grand Rapids, Michigan, Patriece (Jenny)Thompson, Saginaw, Michigan, Destiny McLemore, GA, Anita Bond, Saginaw, Michigan; grandchildren, Erica Thompson, Sandra Thompson, Cawayna Bond, Tevontae Abraham, Patrice Carr, Dave Ellis, Jr., Torryian Brown, Isaiah Thompson, Cassidy Thompson, Deandra Barrett, Chandra Bond, Oshawanna Smith, Latriece Smith; sisters, Brenda Laury, Janice Williams, Wanda (JC) Williams; brothers, Donald (Verniette) Williams, Kenneth (Barbara) Williams; uncles, Eugene William, Detroit, Michigan, Oscar Blue, Saginaw, Michigan; cousins, Gloria Jones, Gwen Lee; mother and father-in-law, Harry and Ovella Bond; sisters-in-law, Toni Hicks, Debra Blakely; brothers-in-law, Vincent Bond, Sheardell Abby; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other loved ones and friends.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra K. Thompson; daughter, Tonya Thompson; parents, Jimmie Thompson, Ethel (Brady) Williams; sisters, Debra Roby, Darlene Williams; brother, Brady Williams; sisters-in-law, Bernadine Essex, Valarie Williams, Lynnette Peoples; brothers-in-law, Leon Laury, Harry Bond, Jr.; cousin, Earl Jones, Sr.; and niece, Jacqueline Williams.
