Mr. James Prescott "Blue Boy" passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015 at his residence. Age 75 years. He was born April 15, 1940 to David and Marie (Belton) Prescott in Sumter, South Carolina.
James resided in Saginaw, Michigan where he was a member of Truevine Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Paul E. Broaddus. He was a member of the Soul Survivors Motorcycle Club, Oasis Truck Club and Classic Car Club. James retired from the Chevrolet Grey Iron Foundry in 2001, and was a member of UAW Local 668. He enjoyed fishing, listening to the blues, his vehicles, hanging out at McDonalds and Corner End Car Wash. He also enjoyed being around his boys and his lil princess. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of fifteen years, Thelma Lorraine Prescott, Saginaw, Michigan; two precious daughters, Chenita LaToya Tellis and Shayla Renee Hurston, both of Saginaw, Michigan; grandchildren, Larry McDonald II, James McDonald, Charles Bowes, Jr., Adoniss Mitchner, Jr. and SaMariah OBryan, all of Saginaw, Michigan; one brother, J.D. (Bonnie) Dunbar of Saginaw, Michigan; two aunts, Martha Moss of Zion, Illinois, and Mamie (Frank) Rogers of Detroit, Michigan; one uncle, LeeRoy Brown of Flint, Michigan; three sisters-in-law, Blondell Prescott and Mary Laury of Saginaw, Michigan, and Yvette Brown of Cleveland, Ohio; five brothers-in-law, Jimmie (Valerie) Skipworth of Cleveland, Ohio; Waydell (Chiquita) Brown, Major, Anthony and Stephenson Brown, all of Saginaw, Michigan; many other relatives and friends including a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends including his godson, Jeremiah McMillon, the Whitley Brothers and the Corner End Car Wash Crew, friends from McDonalds on Dixie Highway, T.C. Dawkins, Vanessa Coleman, Bruce Jones, 3-Jay, and Crystal Parker.
Mr. Prescott was preceded in death by his mother and father, Marie (Belton) and David Prescott, Sr., sister and brother-in-law, Lillie Mae (Fred) Jordan, brother, David Prescott, Jr., mother-in-law, Mary L. Jackson, father-in-law, Ovoy Brown, Sr., brother-in-law, Ovoy Brown, Jr., sister-in-law, Constance Brown and special niece, Marie Prescott.
The family would like to express special thanks to DaVita Dialysis Center on South Michigan, Dr. Osoma, Dr. S. Martin, Drs. R & V. Dedicatoria, and his 3-year old nurse, Brooklyn Jones.
