James Lloyd Jackson

June 23, 1941 — November 29, 2017

On Wednesday, November 29, 2017 there was a great reunion in Heaven as James Lloyd Jackson transitioned from life on earth to life eternal. He was welcomed by his wife, Sarah, daughter, Paulette, son, Jon, parents, Rosa Lena and Booker T. Jackson and a host of other family and friends. James entered into eternal rest at Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 76 years.

Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, cousin and brother-in-law, affectionately known to many as “Jimmy”, was born on June 23, 1941 in Birmingham, Alabama to Rosa Lena and Booker T. Jackson, Sr. He was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan (Buena Vista Township) and a graduate of Saginaw High School, Class of 1959. James was employed by the Saginaw Country Club prior to being drafted into the United States Army in 1963. Upon completion of his military service with Honorable Discharge, James returned to Saginaw and was employed by the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company known as A&P. He was also employed by General Motors Corporation (Saginaw Steering Gear), retiring after 35-1/2 years of dedicated service.

Mr. Jackson leaves to cherish loving memories two daughters, Kimberly (D’Marquis) Monroe of Saginaw, Michigan and Lynnette Chavis, Opelousas, Louisiana; ten sons, Michael, Ivan, Bryan, Randy, Cory, Tory and DeVante Jackson, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Vincent, Shawn (Tereasa) and Anthony (Lea) Jackson of Grand Rapids, Michigan; sixty-two grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; four sisters, Katherine (James) Owens, Cheryl Green, Brenda (Tyrone) Sanders and Rosa Coleman; one brother, Warren Jackson; special cousin, John Evans; one sister-in-law, Nina Mae Gaines; many other relatives and friends; special friends, Lily Ford, Henry Ford and Glen Taylor.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah; daughter, Paulette; son, Jon; parents, Rosa and Booker T. Jackson; brothers, Fredrick and Booker Jr.; sister, Ruby Jackson; in-laws, "Mother Mary" and "Daddy Joe" Jones; many other relatives and friends.

The family would like to express special thanks to the Visiting Nurse Association; James’ sisters, Kathy and Cheryl; brother, Warren; Dr. Ruth Licht; Ivan E. Phillips and the staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
