James C. White (Lansing)

Mr. James C. White passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at McLaren Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Age 72 years. He was born May 31, 1944 to Willie B. Thomas and Annie Mae Mitchell in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

James was a resident of Lansing, Michigan for 48 years. He worked as a Chief Electrical Inspector for the City of Lansing and was a member of IBEW Local 665. He enjoyed working with his hands and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. James loved to laugh and joke. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. James was well known in the community and known for his generosity. He will be missed by many people in the Lansing community.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Delores Clemmons White, Erie, Pennsylvania; seven children, Delores (Harlan) Jones, Akron, Ohio, James S. (Erin) White, Yuvet White, Damika White, Lionel White and Clarence White all of Lansing, Michigan, and Jamesha White, Erie, Pennsylvania; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Rosie Taylor, Mary Langston, Paticia Thomas and Mary Anne Thomas, all of Lansing; five brothers, Jenus (Melissa) Thomas, John (Leola) Mitchell, Earnest (Joanne) Thomas and Dexter Thomas all of Lansing and John (Flora) Thomas of Kentucky; with many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Glenath White and Carol Thomas.
