Hortense Williams

November 12, 1947 — March 14, 2020

Mrs. Hortense Williams was born November 12, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York to Herbert and Hortense Miller. She moved on to a better place on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at the age of 72 years.

Hortense, lovingly called “Aunt Sister”, met her husband, Curtis Williams, in Brooklyn. The two shared 55 years of happiness together and four children were born to this union.

Sister and Curtis moved to Saginaw, Michigan and lived life to the fullest together. She loved when her family and friends would gather and fellowship with one another. She enjoyed cooking and watching everyone enjoy her meals. Sister liked to double dutch and was one of the best to ever do it.

In the last few years, she rediscovered one of her favorite hobbies, crocheting. She took pride in her completed projects. Sister also enjoyed decorating her home. She had a great eye for detail and was able to make small things beautiful. Her hospitality and caring nature touched many lives and she will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Sister went to glory with her daughter, Teresa Allen. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Hortense Miller; granddaughter, Brittney Harry; brothers, Harold and Ornon Skinner; sister, Melissa Skinner; mother and father-in-law, Georgia and Wonzo Williams.

She leaves beautiful memories with her loving husband, Curtis Williams; children, Curtis Jr., Ronald (Sherry), Timothy Williams; fifteen grandchildren, Sekieta, Monee, Curtis III, Charity, Justine, Coreyon, Shytrice, Ronald, Tareya, Darshea, De’Quaylin, Brandon, Jaylen, Brooklyn, Timmia; sister, Sara Taylor; sisters-in-law, Shirley (Willie) Boggs, Joyce (James) Williams, Vernita Webb, Sandra Poole, Emma (George) McBride, Mildred (Lamar) Smith, Mary Ann Williams; brothers-in-law, Jerry (Adriane), Donald Williams; many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family would like to express special thanks to Pastor Lafayette Simpson and Bethlehem Baptist Church, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
