Gwendolyn L. Collier

Gwendolyn Leota Collier was born October 21, 1943 in Camden, New Jersey, the daughter of Charles W. Steward, Sr. and Clementine O. Major. She received her wings Sunday, January 20, 2019 at the age of 75 years.

Gwendolyn was a long-time resident of Saginaw, Michigan. She attended Saginaw Public Schools during her school age years. She accepted Christ at an early age and never lost her love or zeal for God.

Gwendolyn’s hobbies included cooking, macramé, ceramics. poetry and playing Scrabble. She really enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They brought her so much joy. Her presence will definitely be missed but her memory will never be forgotten.

Gwendolyn was preceded in death by her parents. Charles W. Steward, Sr., Clementine (Horace) Major; daughter, Tina M. Collier; brothers, Charles W. Steward III, James O. Washington; sisters, Sandra and Debra Steward; uncle, John (Minnie) Longuemire; nephew, Damien Steward; and many other relatives and friends.

She leaves to celebrate her life three daughters, Lynn Collier, Cheryl (Andrew) Tucker, Lisa (Dorian) Collier; one son, Monte (Elizabeth) Collier; grandchildren, Kimberly Collier, Aaron (Natasha) Tucker, Mikkayla Tucker, Leah Collier, Emonie Johnson, Elijah, McKenzie, Monte Jr., Cierra, Montaya Collier; great-grandchildren, Kylie, Jalil, Peyton Collier, Kimora, Jakobe Tucker; one sister, Michele Major; two brothers, Don (Odessa), Gregory (Alma) Steward; eight nieces; four nephews; two sisters-in-law, Cathy Steward; Linda Washington; a host of other relatives and friends, including special friends, Mable Holloway, Elmer Swilley and Toni (Ray) Hicks.

The family would like to express special thanks to Covenant Healthcare, Samaritas Nursing, Fresenius Dialysis, A&D Home Health, Dr. McRipley, special caregivers, Lisa and Lynn Collier.
