Ms. Gwendolyn Dollene DuPard passed away Monday, November 22, 2021, at her residence in Taylor, Michigan. Age. 57 years. She was born on June 25, 1964 in Lansing, Michigan to the late Charlie James Thompson and Izealia Mae Thompson, born the sixth of seven children.

Gwendolyn was a hard-working woman and touched the lives of many. She worked as a Manager for the State of Michigan within the judiciary system for over 20 years. Aiding to form practices that have shaped Lansing's laws and bylaws. Gwendolyn not only worked hard but fought hard for black women and men to be introduced into rooms that were not meant for them at that time. Her efforts didn't cease there. Once her proteges were recognized she personally trained them on how to be successful within their respective career paths. After she retired from the State of Michigan, Gwendolyn began her career in Property Management. As a Manager she lived in numerous states helping her residents live, laugh, and love. She was truly loved by her residents and staff and was often recognized as a Mother to the residential community.

Gwendolyn was a very caring and giving person. She enjoyed reading, writing, singing, attending festivals, and cooking. She really enjoyed making others laugh. Gwendolyn dubbed herself "Princess" and carried herself accordingly. Her pride and joy were not only her children but her granddaughter Reign "Drop" Justice. She brought Gwendolyn a joy that was recognized by many. Their bond was undeniable and fueled her strength daily.

Gwendolyn was also a founding member of Jesus of Nazareth Church of God in Christ. She took on many roles to include singing in the choir, ushering, personal assistant to First Lady Virgie M. Milton, administrative staff, and much more. Gwendolyn loved her leaders, Bishop Aaron Milton and Jurisdictional Elect Lady Virgie Milton and did what she could to assist her church as needed.

Gwendolyn leaves to cherish her memories two children, D'Amrique Justice and Desiree' Simmons; one granddaughter, Reign Gwendolyn Justice; mother, Izealia Thompson; six siblings, Lorraine Williams-Courent, Charles Thompson Jr., Raymond (Gail) Thompson, Nathan Thompson, Lisa Phifer, and Julia Thompson; many adored nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews; two aunts, Lareuse Townsend and Hildry M. Williams; many other loved cousins, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Thompson; grandparents, Lex Thompson, Aleanner Belcher-Thompson, Ila Williams and Hildry Williams; great-grandparents, aunts, uncles and other beloved relatives.
