Giola Williams

Giola Williams passed away Friday November 1, 2013 at St. Marys of Michigan Medical Center at the age of 81 years. She was born May 30, 1932 in Blytheville, Arkansas to Milton Bell Sr. and Henretta Caradine.
Giola was raised in Blytheville, Arkansas but later relocated to Saginaw, Michigan where she was employed at Johnnies Chicken Inn and at Holiday Inn where she was employed as a Cook. After retiring she became a foster parent and daycare provider for over 40 years. Giola was a faithful member of Truevine Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Robert Corley Sr. then later transitioning to Rosehill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Levi Patton and now presided over by Pastor Murray Culberson. She was a longtime servant of the churchs Kitchen Committee and Nurses Guild. Giola enjoyed gardening, sewing, doing hair, cooking, canning, fishing and parenting. She was the mother of seven natural born children and seven adopted children. She fostered and provided day care services for more than one hundred children.
She leaves to cherish her memory five sons, Floyd Barnes Jr. of Saginaw, Michigan, Kevin Barnes of Sioux City, Iowa, Kenny (Jeanie) Barnes of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, Andy (Kathy) Williams of Carrolton, Texas, and Demetrius Williams of Saginaw, Michigan; seven daughters; Sharon Williams, Shanell Williams, Dallas Williams Mckenzie, Shareese Williams Gillerson, Ebony Williams, Deidra Williams, and Denise Williams, all of Saginaw, Michigan; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends including a special niece, Betty Abernathy, and special friends, Sharon Berkley, Ruth Sisson, Shirley Smith, Robert Coleman, and Annie Jackson.
Giola was preceded in death by her parents, Milton Bell Sr. and Henretta Caradine, spouse, Benjamin Williams, one brother, Milton Bell Jr., one son, Larry Ansari Sr. and one daughter, Dorothy Carter.
The family of Giola Williams wishes to express a special thank you to the staff at St. Marys Medical Center 6th and 7th floor ICU, Flight Care and a very special heartfelt thank you to her grandson, Dr. Larry Ansari Jr.
The family wishes to thank our relatives and friends for their kind expressions of concern and heartfelt sympathy during our bereavement. May God richly bless each and every one of you.
