Geraldine Robinson

June 2, 1954 — February 21, 2018

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and coach, Geraldine Robinson, gained her heavenly wings and went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 21, 2018. Age 63 years. She was born on June 2, 1954 in Saginaw, Michigan to Willie and Beatrice Robinson.

Ms. Robinson was a resident of Inkster, Michigan. She was a longtime resident of Saginaw, Michigan, and was a proud graduate of Saginaw High School, “Class of 1972.” Geraldine was baptized at an early age and was a member at Truevine Missionary Baptist Church and later, Messiah Missionary Baptist Church, prior to uniting with Peoples Community Baptist Church of Westland, Michigan under the leadership of Pastor Vincent Matthews. Geraldine continued her education and received an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Delta College. Her hobbies were coaching, basketball, traveling with family and friends, going to sporting events and bingo. Geraldine will be missed by family and friends who loved her dearly.

She leaves to cherish precious memories two daughters, LaTrina (Larry) Waldon and LaTasha Drake, Inkster, Michigan; one son, Ronald Morris, Jr., Saginaw, Michigan; seven grandchildren, Kiara Coakley, Jas'Mine Bracey, Donjudis Myles, Jr., O’Marrion Drake, Nyari Morris, Ja-‘Liyah McCulloh and Amiya Morris; one brother, Lee P. (Geraldine) Rockett, Grandview, Missouri; two sisters, Lee Senda Womack, Stockton, California, Jerry (Glenn) Moore, Sr., Bridgeport, Michigan; godbrother, William D. Cooper, Nashville, Tennessee; uncle, Roosevelt Boyd, Waco, Texas; sister-in-law, Shirley Williams, Saginaw, Michigan; two special cousins, James (Sharon) Boyd, Waco, Texas, Debra (Michael) Coleman, Saginaw, Michigan; Louis Ben Haynes and Cedell Virgies, whom she raised as her own; many nieces, nephews and friends; special friends, Velma Ware, Vivian Brewer, Ronald Morris, Sr., and Darrell Drake, Sr.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Beatrice Robinson; brothers, Louis and Joe Rockett; grandmother, Minnie Boyd; nieces, Belinda, Krystal and Diamond Rockett; nephew, Lee P. Rockett, Jr.

The family would like to express special thanks to St. Mary Mercy ICU and Dr. Kelly Mercier of Livonia, Michigan; Jerry and Glenn Moore for being there until the end; Pastor Vincent Matthews and Peoples Community Baptist Church family.
