George (Lansing) Jackson

Mr. George E. Jackson went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 14, 2015 at Sparrow Hospital. Age 61 years. He was born on October 18, 1954 in Paducah, Kentucky to Jimmy Jackson and Margie Edwards.
George moved to Lansing, Michigan in the early 1970s and was employed with General Motors until he retired. He enjoyed spending time cooking, working on cars, fishing, helping people in the neighborhood. He loved listening to the Blues and riding his motorcycle.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 42 years, Jill Ann Jackson; one son, Tywon Scates of Alabama; four step-children, Rondalin (Kevin) Washington of Nashville, Tennessee, William (Mary) Hart, Jr., Jamie Hart, and Shawne (Albert) Wade of Lansing, Michigan; twelve grandchildren, Tywon Scates, Jr., TyKerya Scates, Shyla Hart, Nikila Atcheson, William McCray IV, Corico McCray, William Hart III, Rashawnda Hart, Tyrin Wade, Mikyrra Wade, Destiny Manuel, Adrian Kidder, including a special granddaughter, Shyla Hart; nine great grandchildren, Marlena Hursey, Harmonee' Atcheson, Milena Atcheson, LaReina Atcheson, Braxton McCray, Leilani McCray, Kameron McCray, Taji Wade, Jr., Renesmay McCray; mother, Margie Mae Edwards of Lansing, Michigan; five brothers, Johnny Jackson, Kentucky, David Butch (Janet) Jackson, Ronald Woods, Aaron Edwards of Lansing, Michigan, and Ronald Goose (Tish) Caldwell of Kentucky; three sisters, Linda Berry, Mae Cookie Beard, and Louise Edwards of Lansing, Michigan, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends including special friends Big Bo, JJ, Crenshaw, William McCray III WeeZee, Son, Mississippi, Boo, and all of Rumpshakers buddies.
George was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Jackson; grandparents, Icey and Ellen Edwards and Rosie Jackson.
