Mr. Gemarcus Santize Taylor passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center-Midland, Michigan. Age 42 years. He was born on October 22, 1975 in Paris, Texas to Rita Taylor and Nathan Shannon

Gemarcus was a resident of Midland, Michigan after leaving Saginaw, Michigan where he attended Saginaw Public Schools and graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1993. He also attended Delta College where he became a Certified Welder. Gemarcus was employed by Blue Diamond Steel Casting. He loved watching football on Sundays, especially if the Dallas Cowboys were playing. Gemarcus was a loving father and son who thought the world of his family. He loved animals, too, especially his dog, “Chief”. Gemarcus was a very kind hearted man who would do anything for anyone. He will be truly missed by all who loved him dearly.

He leaves to cherish loving memories his fiancée, Andrea Derus, Midland, Michigan; three daughters, Miranda Campbell, Jasmine Taylor, and Aubrianna Taylor; two sons, Demetris Scott and Dylan Derus; three grandchildren, Aubrey Campbell, Darrius Campbell, Amir Scott; mother, Rita Taylor; step-father, Peter Gensmen; grandmother, Doris Davis; step-sister, LaShandria Shonnie Ross; brother, Christopher Derus; several nieces and nephews whom he loved very much, especially Gabrielle Derus; three aunts, Hattie Mae Taylor, Pauline Luke, Suzy Johnson; one uncle, Victor Taylor; many cousins, especially “Tonya”; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Wilbert, Lonnie Taylor, and Sharome McKinney.

Gemarcus was preceded in death by his father, Nathan Shannon; grandfather, Harry Davis; and cousin, Cedric Luke.

The family would like to express thanks to his fiancée, Andrea Derus for her loving care and support.
