Frederick Hicks (Lansing)

Frederick Hicks departed this life of pain to a place where there is no more pain on November 6, 2019 in Lansing, Michigan. Age 64 years. He was born October 27, 1955 in Lansing, Michigan, to Robert Hicks, Jr. and Carrie Hicks. He was the ninth child out of thirteen siblings.

He received his G.E.D. then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He accepted Christ at an early age, sung in the Angel Choir in a group with his brothers, and he played the drums. Fred enjoyed shooting pool with his friends, singing and having fun with whoever he met. He also boxed for the Golden Gloves.

He leaves to cherish his memories; daughter, Michelle (David) McCloud of Grand Rapids, Michigan; mother, Carrie Hicks; step-children, Cory and Anthony (Shanell) Henry, LaVonta Artis, Tenitra-Moon Henton, all of Lansing, Michigan; three brothers, Bobby (Linda) Dodd, Robert Hicks, Bruce Hicks; three sisters, Donna (Terry) Wray, Alice Glover, Beverly Hicks; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by son, Delon Pate; father, Robert Hicks, Jr.; sisters, Deloris D. Woodard, Katie L. Roberts, Vivian Taylor, Tennie L. Cowley; brother, Jeffrey Hicks; sister-in-law, Dorothy Hicks; and brother-in-law, Ocie Bowers; and grandparents.
