Frederick Brodnex

August 23, 1956 — January 30, 2012

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 30, 2012. Age 55 years. Frederick Brodnex was born August 23, 1956 in Saginaw, Michigan to Lois Ann and Elijah Brodnex.
He was a supervisor at Comcast in Snellville, Georgia. He graduated from Buena Vista High School with the Class of 1975 and later attended Delta College. He was employed by General Motors before deciding on a career in the United States Marine Corps. He dedicated 21 years of honorable and faithful service as a Master Sergeant. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal from 1992-1998 by President Bill Clinton.
His memory will be cherished by his wife, Leslie, one son, Christopher Jefferson, Saginaw, Michigan; stepchildren, Seterria Brodnex, Keone Penn, Snellville, Georgia, Terrill, Marcus and Chaka Whitten, Calfornia; four brothers and six sisters, Paulette, Elijah (Karen) of Raleigh, North Carolina, Shirley (Cornelius), Donald (Stella), Glenn (Juanita) all of Indianapolis, Indiana, Carol, Sandra, Gertrude (Johnny), Lonzie (Cynthia), and Beverly (Trevor); grandchildren; four aunts, Mary Tucker and Jerlene Burnside, both of Saginaw, Michigan, Beatrice Sherfield and Martha Mae Brodnex, both of Arlington, Tennessee; one uncle, John Sutton, Kansas City; sister-in-law, Beverly Kennedy, Snellville, GA, Missouri; many nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends, all of Saginaw, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his mother Lois Ann in 1988 and his father Elijah Brodnex, Sr. in 2009.
The family would like to give special thanks to Paradise Funeral Chapel, Dr. Ron Frierson, New Covenant Christian Center and friends for your love and support during this difficult time.
Funeral services will take place on February 3, 2012 at Fairfield Baptist Church at 11:00am in Lithonia, Georgia. A memorial celebration remembering Freddie's childhood years up until his death will take place at Paradise Funeral Chapel.
