Fred Gandy "Jack"

Mr. Fred “Jack” Gandy passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin. Age 79 years. He was born on September 6, 1938 in Aliceville, Alabama to J.D. Gandy and Louise Gandy.

Fred was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan prior to relocating to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was a graduate of Aliceville High School, Aliceville, Alabama. Fred accepted Christ as his Saviour in 1959 and was united with Spiritual Israel Church and its Army, serving in the All Assembly Treasury, Golden Jewel and Supreme Trustee. Fred was employed by General Motors Corporation (Saginaw Malleable Iron Foundry) where he poured iron for engine blocks. He was a member of UAW Local 455. Jack retired from the Malleable after thirty years of service. In 1994, Fred moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was employed by Gorman & Company, Incorporated as a groundskeeper. He enjoyed riding bikes, playing basketball, making jewelry, playing dominoes and cards, making church programs, planting flowers and gardening.

He leaves to cherish loving memories one daughter and two sons, Marcus James McCray, Sr., Milwaukee, Wisconsin, DeAndre (Auri) Clement, Saginaw, Michigan, Margaret (Stevie) Whitson, Saginaw, Michigan; six grandchildren, Marcus James McCray, Jr., A’Ryah Clement, Reh’l Clement, Ciara Markita Collins, Kassidi Clement, and Kelly Gandy; his companion, Rosemary Traylor; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends; one great-aunt, Marand Kelly; two favorite nieces, Mary Harris and Jackie “Jackpot” Swilley.

Mr. Gandy was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Louise Gandy; two brothers, John Gandy, Jr. and Oscar Gandy; four sisters, Annie Craig, Clara Mae Gandy, Essie Mae Swilley and Ella Louise McCaa;
