Mr. Frazier Townsend Sr.
Our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 21, 2013 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper at the blessed age of 93 years. He was born in Union Springs, Alabama to Governor and Alonia Townsend on December 20, 1919. Both predeceased him. He was a Navy Veteran and a Masonic. He retired from Wayne Farms Poultry Plant after 38 years of service.
He leaves to cherish his memories 5 daughters, Susie Mae Townsend, Union Springs, Alabama, Brenda Townsend, Annie Pearl (Jerry) Wilburn, Margarett Townsend, Bobby Newby, all of Saginaw, Michigan; 8 sons, Willie (Wilma) Weems, Frazier Jr. (Katie) Townsend, Curtis Townsend, Willie James Townsend, Milton (Catherine) Townsend, Sammie (Melinda) Townsend, Richard (Beatrice) Townsend, of Saginaw, Michigan, Stanley (Jackie) Townsend, Union Springs, Alabama; a very special granddaughter with whom he lived with, Shirley (Frederick) Jackson; 44 grandchildren; 70 great-grands; 1 great-great-grand; a great host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including a special niece, Pecola (Lee) Haynes; 2 sisters-in-law, Ruby Weems, Saginaw, Michigan, Gladys Stafford, Passiac, New Jersey; 1 brother-in-law, Johnnie Weems, Saginaw, Michigan.
He was predeceased in death by his wife (Ethel), mother (Alonia), father (Governor), 1 daughter (Annie Will), 1 grandson (Bernard), 1 brother (Stanley), 3 sisters (Governor Lee, Callie, Susie).
