On May 2, 2015, Ms. Felecia Michele Colvin, also known as Cookie transitioned from temporary to eternal life and received beauty for ashes. Felecia was born in Saginaw, Michigan on October 19, 1965 to Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Delores Colvin.
Felecia attended St. Marys High School where she graduated in the Class of 1983. She held a degree in Fashion Design from Delta College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. After graduation, Felecia moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she lived and worked for The Cocoa Cola Company for several years. Knowing in her heart that fashion was her passion, she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to pursue her dream! Felecia loved the fashion industry, shoes in particular, and she worked in several Las Vegas venues including the Bellagio Hotel as a fashion consultant and buyer. She also loved to travel, enjoyed good music, laughing and being with her family and friends. Felecia was a "Sophisticated Diva and always a Lady"!
Felecia touched the lives of many people with her smile and humbleness. She always had an attitude of thumbs up meet me at the beach, and did not drag through life. Felecia was always grateful and appreciated the little things.
She will forever be remembered by her devoted parents Robert and Delores Colvin, sisters, Eunice Morris, Deborah Morris, Saginaw, Michigan, Lucinda (Roosevelt) Bell, Jacksonville, Florida; brothers, Robert Russell Colvin and Van Allister Colvin, Saginaw, Michigan; aunts, Josephine (Hodges) Haynes, Saginaw, Michigan, Mary Doris Burns and Jackie Kelly-Smith, Detroit, Michigan, Yarbra Kelly, Atlanta Georgia, and Betty Colvin, East Elmhurst, New York; one uncle, Alonza (Charlene) Colvin and a host of nieces and nephews.
Felecia will also be missed by her special friends, Yvette Alicea, Las Vegas, Nevada, Slew Wilkins, Atlanta, Georgia, Rhonda Hamilton, Lubbock, Texas, and Cassandra Morrison, Detroit, Michigan; a beautiful goddaughter, Amanda Anthony, Las Vegas, Nevada; many other family members whom were blessed to have loved her, including special cousins, Judy Colvin Webb and Clareeta Candie White.
Felecia was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clarence and Amanda Kelly, Allen and Gertrude Jelks Colvin; aunts, Alma (Anderson) Parker, Peggy (OC) Crenshaw, Annie Maude (Major) Pierrie, uncles, Coleman (Willie Clyde) Colvin, Will Tom Colvin, Alto (Bertha) Colvin and Arbennie Colvin.
The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff of Saginaw Geriatrics hospice facility of Saginaw for the special care given to Felecia.
In accordance with Felecias wishes, cremation has taken place.
