Eva Mae Bryant

January 13, 1935 — April 25, 2012

Eva Mae Bryant, affectionately known as "Granny", made her transition on April 25, 2012 to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, surrounded by her family who loved and cherished her at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper. Age 77 years. Eva was born January 13, 1935 to John Wesley Sr. and Maggie Nettles in Sunflower, Mississippi.
Eva loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. Her time was also best spent at church and singing in the choir. She was a God fearing woman who raised her children in the church. Eva was longtime member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and later joined Good Samaritan Baptist Church where her son was the pastor. She sung with the recording choirs, Prayed Up and Unity Chorale. If she wasn't in church, she could be found supporting the Saginaw High Trojans basketball and football teams. Her favorite hobby was shopping with Doris and keeping her hair and nails done. She loved to go! She also worked for the Foster Grandparent program in Saginaw, Michigan.
Her memory will be cherished by her four children, Reverend Effie B. Allen, Laverne Wilkins, Doris (Mac) Myrick, all of Saginaw, Michigan; Pastor Ronnie (Rosell) Bryant Sr. of Waldorf, Maryland; two step-daughters, Maxine Bryant Kennebrew of Detroit, Michigan and Tasha Weathers of Las Vegas, Nevada; twenty-four grandchildren, one whom she raised, Lisa (Terrance) Wright, Mark (Dwan) Bryant, Aubrey (Ashley) Allen III, Aubrion Allen, Rogma, Eric (Evita), TaJuana, TaQuita, Rogdric Bryant, Yalanda (Kenneth) Frazier, Ronnie (Marcia) Bryant Jr., Ryan Bryant, Ronnita (Antonio) Cannon, Jeremy Robinson, Kierra White, Demetress Bryant, Morris Calhoun Jr., Tanika (Chris) Coleman, Johnnie Jr., Jonathan, Joshua, Ariana Bryant, Tionna and Sherelle Myrick; thirty-five great grandchildren, Ja'Nae, Kentoria, Jalea, Brooklyn, Ramiya, Ronnie III., Toni, Torrence, Mark Jr., Jovan, Ariana, Maurice Jr., Aniya, Aubrion Jr., Madisan, Aubrey III., Jonathan, Andrea, Eric Jr., Erica, Jaylen, Adelaisa, Jayden, Chardonay, DeShawn, Kemiya, Amari, Jaylen, Demetress Jr., Tiera, Steven, Kierra, Ahria, Kenedy and Jaden; four sisters, Ada Jackson, Lucille Jones, Betty (Johnnie) Williams, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Earlean Nettles of Lima, Ohio; three brothers, Eddie (Georgia) Nettles, R.D.Nettles of Saginaw, Michigan, Eugene (Mildred) Nettles of Lansing, Michigan; sister-in-law, Catherine Hudson of Grand Rapids, Michigan; daughter-in-law, Tina Bryant of Brandon, Mississippi; favorite niece, Beverly Poydras of Las Vegas, Nevada; many other relatives and friends, including a special friend, Pervis Carter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Wesley Sr. and Maggie Nettles; three sons, Milton, Roger and Johnnie Bryant,; two grandsons, Roger Bryant III and Steven Bryant; granddaughter, Mayosha Bryant; great-grandson, Kenneth "Cookie" Frazier; two brothers, John Nettles and Howard Nettles; one sister, Martha Lee Sims.
