Mr. Ernest Cooper passed away Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper surrounded by his family. Age 81 years. He was born December 4, 1928 in Saginaw, Michigan to Drucilla Evans and Chine Cooper.
Ernest graduated from Saginaw High School in 1947. He began employment with CSX Transportation in 1964 and retired 26 years later in 1990. He was married to June E. (Hall) Cooper for 45 years. Ernest was a family man who enjoyed spending quality time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He leaves to cherish his memories six daughters and two sons, Gayle (James) Ragston, Otisville MI, Lita (Michael) Coles, Arlington, TX, Joycelyn Cooper, Lynn Cooper, Marla Cooper-Harris, Nikki (Calvin) Brooks all of Saginaw, MI, Reginald Cooper, Adrian Cooper both of Grand Rapids, MI; nine grandchildren, LaValle (Josie) Holman, Derrian Cooper, Aishah Cooper, Adrian Cooper Jr., Ashton Cooper, Ashley Cooper, Trevaughn Brooks, Keasean Brooks, Maurice Johnson of Allentown, PA; three great-grandchildren, Derrian Holman, Kendall Holman, Genae Henry; two sisters, Mary Dunn, Ernestine (George) Howell. He will be greatly missed by many cousins, aunts, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June E. Cooper; two great-grandchildren, Reginald Cooper Jr. and Darrius Cooper.
