Enrique Gomez Cardenas, Sr.

Mr. Enrique Gomez Cardenas, Sr., passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 72 years. He was born to Alvino and Cristina Cardenas on April 20, 1951, in Charlotte, Texas.

Enrique, better known as “Henry,” was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. Born and raised in Texas, Henry migrated to Saginaw in the mid-70s with his wife of 54 years, Antonia. He was employed as a Concrete Finisher for over 30 years at Concrete Masons Local 514. Henry loved listening to Tejano music and watching sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys, San Antonio Spurs, and Texas Longhorns. He enjoyed these activities along with a few cold beers.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Antonia Cardenas, Saginaw, Michigan; two daughters and two sons, Judy (Alejandro) Ayala, Enrique Jr. (Angela) Cardenas, Andrew (Dawn) Cardenas, and MariaLuisa (Michael) Diaz; 10 grandchildren, Cassandra, Adam, Thea, Brandon, Jordan, Angelica, Anastacia, Alejandro Jr., Gabriela, and Joel; one great-grandchild, Emery; one sister, Gloria Martinez; three brothers, Jesus, Gilbert and George Cardenas.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Alvino and Cristina Cardenas; siblings, Consuelo Alaniz, Alicia Alaniz, Alvino Cardenas, Jr., Ernestina Cardenas, Antonio Cardenas, and his little buddy, Chico.
