Elton Johnson, Jr. (Lansing)

Mr. Elton Johnson, Jr. passed away Monday, October 25, 2021, at Sparrow Health Systems Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Age 34 years. He was born October 20, 1987, in Lansing, Michigan, to parents, Elton Johnson, Sr. and Ruby Davis.

Elton, Jr., affectionately known as “Jr”, was a fun, loving, caring young man.

He graduated from J.W. Sexton in 2006. Jr played football and basketball through out school. Elton, Jr. was brought up in the church, along with his family. As a teenager Jr joined The Life Club Program at Mount Hope Church, where he forged many friendships.

Jr touched the community; he always had a smile for you and would Go out of his way to make others smile. He was a loving son, brother, father, cousin, nephew, uncle, and friend. Whatever he set out to do, Jr did his very best to do it well.

Elton, Jr.’s memory will live on in the hearts of his father, Elton (Barbara) Johnson; his mother, Ruby J. Davis; children, Jahzari Johnson, Sincere Johnson, Israel Johnson, Dae’Moni Johnson, Nae’Arie Johnson, and Emiya Johnson; 12 sisters, Shenita Johnson-Andrews, Ruby Davis, Cordree Johnson, Shekia Johnson, Stephanie Johnson, Blake M. Johnson, Brandi Garrett, Brook Garrett, Brayla Garrett, Makayla Moss, Kai Garrett, Pheniecia Holston, and Faye Evans; 7 brothers, Germaine Taylor, Tracy Davis, Jamaree Johnson, Scotty Torres, Denim Johnson, Paul W. Garrett, III, and Brayden Garrett; 5 aunts; 11 uncles; 2 nieces; 5 nephews; and many other relatives and friends, including special friends, Taylor Blocker, Kyrece Smith, Da’Marcus King and Dalorean Strickland

He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Roselee Johnson and Ruby Lee Davis; and grandfathers, Mose Johnson, and Jessie B. Jones.
