Elmer Lewis Jones passed away November 22, 2013 at his residence in Lansing, Michigan. Mr. Elmer Lewis Jones was born October 31, 1950 in Ruleville, Mississippi. He was the oldest of eleven children born to Fannie Jones- Young.
Elmer attended Washington High School and later moved to Lansing, Michigan in 1968. He was employed with Jackson Correctional Facility and General Motors and later became disabled. He was known to his friends as Doc or Jake and will always be remembered for his amazing smile and sense of humor.
Elmer leaves to cherish his memory one son Anthony McCullem of Lansing, Michigan; three daughters, Antoinette (Edwin) Jones of Lansing, Michigan, Renecia and Charina McCullem both of Wichita, Kansas; eight grandsons, Marcel Carter, Myles and Malik Jones all of Lansing, Michigan, Tremayne, KeAndre, Dontrell, Isaiah and Elijah McCullem of Wichita, Kansas; mother, Fannie Jones-Young; six brothers, Ervin, Calvin (Carla), Elton, Anthony, Gilbert (DeeDee) and Otis Jones all of Lansing, Michigan; three sisters; Patricia Simmons, Fannie Marie Jones, and Odessa Jones of Lansing, Michigan; four great grandchildren; three special friends Cledis Trevor, Wade Peters, mother of children Minnie P. McCullem and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and one brother.
