Elise "Cookie" Kaufman (Lansing)

Mrs. Elise (Cookie) Elizabeth Jacobs Kaufman was when God called her home to glory, on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, in Lansing, Michigan at the age of 84 years. She was born on May 12, 1937, when her parents, the late Reverend Louis and Elise Jacobs welcomed their baby girl into the world in Columbia, South Carolina. Elise was greeted in Heaven by her parents when she arrived.

Cookie raised four daughters, Delphine, Sharon (deceased), Sonya, and Katrina. She had six grandchildren,15 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Cookie was a nurturing mother who enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids.

Elise leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter and caregiver, Katrina Kaufman; loving and supportive grandchildren, Jamone I and Elise Brooks; loving and protective great-grandchildren, Jamone II, Naomi Elise, and Goddess Brooks, and Jaivion Husband. She will be missed by daughters Delphine Portee and Sonya Moore; grandchildren; sister, Zella Mae Curry of Washington, DC; special nieces, Johncie Lancaster and Susan Anderson; a host of nieces and nephews; special friends, Marsie Douglas, Theodora May (goddaughter, Jessica), and Vivian Smith; special people, Larry and Roslin Griffin, MaryAnn Graham, Zeferonia Demps, Barbara Roberts, and the entire Friendship Baptist Church Family.

Elise was proceeded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Kaufman; twin sons, Marcus and Marty; daughter, Sharon Bennings; granddaughter, Asia; great-granddaughter Aaliya Elise; nine brothers, Billy, Ray Alphonso, Franklin, Louis Jr., Matthew, John, Marion (Ted), Benjamin (Chris), and Richard Jacobs; and two sisters Sarah Jackson and Beatrice Anderson.
