Eddie "Snake" James Cox

Eddie James Cox, “Snake”, was born on June 4, 1955 to the union of A.C. Sr. and Julia Mae (Thurman) Cox in Chicago, Illinois. He answered the call from the Lord on Monday, December 30, 2019.

Eddie attended Cook Elementary School and went on to graduate from Parker High School. He furthered his education at Kennedy-King College. Eddie fell in love and married Seraphina Crayton. The two spent many years together enjoying each other’s company and raising their family before his untimely death.

Eddie confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. He was a dynamic person and widely known for his kind and giving spirit. He had a fun personality and provided his family and friends with many memorable moments full of laughter and entertainment. He was a jack of all trades and believed he could do anything. He will truly be missed by all.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, A.C. Sr. and Julia Mae Cox; sister, Patricia Ann Cox; three brothers, Gerald, Jerome and A.C. Cox Jr.; sister-in-law, Belinda Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Seraphina Cox; four sons, Eddie Jr. (Biagi) Cox, Ivory (LaToya) Cox, Darrell Clark, Cortez Scarborough; one daughter, Skye Cox: eight stepsons, Devrin Clark, Demarcus Anderson, Korey Rhodes, Torey Rhodes, William White, Lonnie Bell, Anthony Crayton, John Crayton; thirty grandchildren; two sisters, JoAnne McDonald, Sonia (David) Cox-Carr; mother-in-law, Josephine Gochett; sister-in-law, Jewel Lee Smith; brothers-in-law, Anthony Smith, Jane Crayton, Kenya Crayton, Aletha Peoples; best friend, Earl Johnson; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
