Eddie Lewis Patrick

January 24, 1946 — July 29, 2016

Mr. Eddie Lewis Patrick passed away Friday, July 29, 2016 at the age of 70 years. He was born January 24, 1946 in Opelika, Alabama to James and Josie Will Patrick.
Eddie accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and was baptized by the Antioch Baptist Church of Opelika, Alabama. He attended school in Alabama, but soon followed his sister, Lizzie, to Saginaw, Michigan seeking employment and furthering his education. Eddie obtained his GED, and then attended Saginaw Valley State where he received his Certificate for Designs. His education also included weekend classes at Wayne State University and OIC of Saginaw. Eddie was employed by Saginaw County Planning Commission as a planning programmer from 1972 to 2004 when he retired. Following his retirement, Eddie began working for Saginaw County Housing Program until his health failed. He was a member of the Buena Vista Lions Club, serving as the best secretary they ever had. He was also a member of Black Concerned Citizens of Buena Vista. Eddie loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved taking pictures and videos, taking road trips, teaching them about astrology, watching movies, as evidenced by the mountain of DVDs he made, and using Facebook to find relatives. Eddie was a technological expert. He will be greatly missed because of the legacy he left his friends and loved ones.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Dorothy Patrick; four daughters, Wendy (Frank Pulliam) Patrick, Joyce (Jerome) Patrick, DeLois Hurston, and Marilyn (L.C.) Thomas; two sons, Mitchell (Tanya) Patrick, Sr.,and Edmond (Jackie) Patrick; twenty-one grandchildren including six very special grandchildren, Shontell Wright, Ashley Pulliam, Crystal Pulliam, Andre Richards, Jr., Brion Patrick and Emory Hurston; nineteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Lizzie Pearl Echols; two brothers, Kenneth (Ann Maria) Patrick, Johnnie Patrick; eight nieces; six nephews; a host of cousins and many other relatives and friends including special friends, James W. Strickland of Opelika, Alabama, Robert Moe Woods, Ernst Wukert, Bill Wright, Philip Grimaldi, Willie Underwood, Demetra Manley and the Planning Staff.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, James and Josie Patrick; three brothers, Willie Patrick, Charles Patrick, and Walter Patrick; one niece, Sheryl Green; his in-laws, Lois Worthy and Willie Stinson; and special friend, Lathrisha Mitchell.
The family would like to express special thanks to Covenant Healthcare ICC Unit and Mr. Ivan E. Phillips and the staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
