Earline Taylor

June 19, 1932 — April 8, 2020

God saw she was getting tired, so He put His loving arms around her and whispered, “come to me my child.” Mrs. Earline Taylor was called home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at her residence at the age of 87 years. She was born June 19, 1932 in Whitesville, Tennessee to Ed and Lillie Pirtle.

Earline professed her walk with Christ at an early age at Prospect C.M.E. Church of Brownsville, Tennessee. She married Edmond Taylor, Sr. on October 6, 1951. They relocated to Saginaw, Michigan in August of 1965. Earline became a faithful member of True Vine Missionary Baptist Church where the current pastor is Reverend Paul E. Broaddus. She was a member of the Senior Choir until her health began to fail.

Earline was employed as a switchboard operator for Saginaw Medical Center, which serviced St. Luke’s and Saginaw General Hospitals. She retired August 31, 1993 after 25 years of service. Earline enjoyed sewing, crocheting, shopping, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. They were the center of her joy. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Earline was preceded in death by her husband, Edmond Taylor, Sr.; three sons, Bruce Edward, Edmond Jr. and Charles Keith Taylor; daughter, Jacqueline Scott; parents, Ed and Lillie Pirtle; five brothers and four sisters; father and mother-in-law, J.W. and Leora Taylor, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memory two children, Alvis (Roy) Thompson, Vince Eric Taylor, both of Saginaw, Michigan; grandchildren, Amber (Demetrius) McKeever, Desmond L. Scott, Aiken, South Carolina, Jarvis (Michelle) Scott, Defiance, Ohio, Lakendra Butler, Richmond, Virginia, Marcus Baker, Seattle, Washington, Lisa (Dale) Snyder, North Carolina, Teoahnna (Eddie) Mayo, Killeen, Texas, Tanuel (Will) Collins, Saginaw, Michigan, Damion K. Taylor, Saginaw, Michigan, Edmond D. Taylor, Aiken, South Carolina, Charles Jr. and Kayla Taylor, Flint, Michigan, Courtney (Jerry) Carter, Chanell Trudell, Byonka (Tony) Moten, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Erica Taylor, Charlotte, North Carolina; thirty-five great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two special daughters-in-law, Cynthia L. Taylor, Saginaw, Michigan, Michelle Taylor-Ruffin, Flint, Michigan; son-in-law, Robert L. Scott, Aiken, South Carolina; five sisters-in-law, Julie Taylor, Ruth (J.T.) Hall, Ula Mae Taylor, Molly Pirtle, Brownsville, Tennessee, Vunner Pirtle, Decatur, Illinois; special cousin, Reodia Houston, Saginaw, Michigan; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends including special nephews, Henry Lee and John Thomas Hall, both of Saginaw, Michigan.
