Dougher Jr. Talison (Lansing)

October 9, 1947 — April 13, 2017

Mr. Dougher Talison, Jr. passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017 at McLaren Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Age 69 years. Dougher (affectionately called Dodie or June) was the eighth child born to the late Dougher Lee and Annie Neal Lindsey Talison in Cuba, Alabama on October 9, 1947.



Dougher attended Stevenson Vocational School in Alabama, Christopher Attucks and Wendell Phillips schools in Chicago, Illinois. He moved to Lansing, Michigan in 1968. Dougher accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized in 1969. He was an active member of the Holmes Road Church of Christ in Lansing, Michigan. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Martha Thompson of Dyersburg, Tennessee in 1969 and to this union was born a beautiful daughter, LaTesha Talison Richardson. Dodie worked as a fork lift operator at Federal Drop Forge by trade, and was known as Mr. Fix It and MacGyver. He could do it all! He was kind and always willing to help. He was loved by many.



Dougher is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Martha Talison; a daughter, LaTesha (Charles) Richardson; he adored his four grandsons; Charles Chaz Richardson II, Collyn D. Richardson, Conner E. Richardson, and Carson Lee Richardson; two brothers, Aaron Talison and Willie Clarence Talison both of Chicago, Illinois; nine sisters, Della Jones, Velma Ruth Talison, Brenda McGhee, Jevone Smith all of Chicago, Illinois, Thelma Delaine and Lula Talison both of Cuba, Alabama, Jean Hodge, Lansing, Michigan, Viola Williams, Ella Balkcom, and Patricia Stovall all of Detroit, Michigan; brother-and sister-in-laws he considered as siblings; Betty McKinstry, Billy Ray (Shirley) Thompson, Jeanette Thompson, Mattie (Henry) Thompson-Major all of Lansing, Michigan and Joe (Gwen) Thompson of Memphis, Tennessee; very special Mother-In-Law/Mother Rachel Thompson; many other relatives and friends including special friends LeVon Staton, Jake Powell, and Jerry Powell.



He was preceded in death by four brothers: E.L. McElroy, X.L. Talison, Eulma (Tootsie) Wilson, Amos Talison, and Johnnie (Busta) Talison.
