Denise Michelle Cannon

Ms. Denise Michelle Cannon passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at her residence. Age 55 years. Ms. Cannon was born June 12, 1962 in Saginaw, Michigan to Augusta and Luella Watson.

Denise graduated from Saginaw High School, “Class of 1980.” She worked and lived in Saginaw, Michigan her entire life. Ms. Cannon worked as a CNA for 17 years at Hoyt Nursing Home. This career fit her perfectly because caregiving was in her nature. Denise was all about family. She took care of family, friends and anyone else who was in need of assistance. It didn’t matter who you were or where you were from, if you needed help, Denise would take care of it. She was known for her loving heart, kind spirit and compassionate character. Denise always put family first and made sure her relatives knew they were her main priority. Outside of spending time with her family, her free time was spent playing games on her phone.

Ms. Cannon leaves to cherish her memory, former husband, Herbert Hale Jr., North Carolina; one daughter, LaKisha Michelle Hale, Saginaw, Michigan; two step-daughters, Shanta Reed, Heather Hale; five sisters, Christine Cannon-Nelson, Bertha Cannon, Shirley Louis, Genevieve Cannon, Karen Mims; three brothers, Isiah Cannon, Pete Cannon, Albert Watson; one sister-in-law, Janice Cannon; three brothers-in-law, Johnny Redeemer, Michael Nelson, Antwon Mims; one goddaughter, Shantiesha Pruitt; three godsons, Deondre Pruitt, Corey Humphrey, Everette Goodwine; five grandchildren, Amariah Graham, Dareon Hale, My’Angel Hale, Gene Henry III, Lay’la Henry, all of Saginaw, Michigan; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and best friends, Carla Pinson, Lenora Townsend-Pickett.

Ms. Cannon was preceded in death by her parents, Augusta and Luella Watson; son, Mark A. Watson; sisters, Catherine Kelly, Brenda Cannon; brothers, Johnny Hinds, Alvin, Calvin, Larry, and Andrew Cannon; nephews, Willie Baniel, Greg Kelly, Anthony Cannon; Jr.; nieces, Erica Wilkerson, Sandra and Helen Kelly.

The family would like to express special thanks to everyone who has kept our family in their prayers during the course of our bereavement. Please continue to pray for us as we navigate through this life mourning our beloved one.
