Delois Eggleston

September 27, 1942 — December 27, 2021

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Delois Jean Eggleston, departed Monday, December 27, 2021. Delois was born to Walter and Sadie Robinson on September 27, 1942 in Des Arc, Arkansas, coming to Saginaw, Michigan in 1961.

Delois married Willie Eggleston in 1972. She was a retiree of Delphi where she worked for 30 years and was a member of UAW Local 467. Delois was a devoted member of New Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where she served in various ministries. She loved to travel, shop, and play cards; going on cruises was one of her favorite pastimes. She just loved to have fun.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 50 years, Willie Eggleston; five sons, Melvin (Joleah) Shaw, Iowa City, Iowa, Eric (Chloe) Eggleston, Bennie Bailey (Gail Little), Maurice (Tania) Hopgood, and Alfred (Cimone) Harris, Jr., all of Saginaw, Michigan; two sisters, Shirley (Eloskia) Bradley of Bridgeport, Michigan, and Linda Smith, of Saginaw, Michigan; two brothers, Welton (Mary Ann) Robinson, Des Arc, Arkansas, James Robinson, Saginaw, Michigan; one brother-in-law, Leo Ford, Saginaw, Michigan; ten granddaughters, Danielle, Lakesha (Jimmy) Clayton, Erica, Makayla, Jazmyn, Quintoria, Majesty, Monique (Bryan) Willis, Breanna, and Alaya; five grandsons, Antionne, Devario, Zackary, Ryan, and Alfred Harris III; 15 great-grandchildren; one aunt, Emma Berry; two goddaughters, Kenyatta Jeffries, and Candice Stewart; one godson, Kyndell Jeffries; adopted daughter, Letha Adams; a host of nieces and nephews; she also leaves to cherish her memories Sharon Newbern, Bobbie (Willie) Haynes, Jimmy (Ivory) Miller, Roy Stewart, Bobbie Sykes, Betty (Johnnie) Williams.

Delois was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Sadie Robinson; grandparents, Lige (Amanda) Chase, Walter (Lensie Jane) Robinson; sisters, Earnestine, JoAnn, Lilia and Elizabeth; brothers, Robert Louis, Roy Lee, Gene Ellis, Calvin; brother-in-law, Louis Eggleston; one grandson, Eric Davis; and one adopted daughter, Marie Bailey.

The family of Delois Jean Eggleston would like to extend our heartfelt thank you to everyone for every act of kindness, your prayers, cards, and phone calls.
