Delia "Sylvia" Jones

Delia Sylvia Jones was born August 28, 1943 in Saginaw, Michigan to John Casey and Mary Ressie Jones. She finished her race on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at the age of 76 years.

Sylvia was a lifetime resident of Carrollton Township, where she received her early education. She is a graduate of Saginaw High School, “Class of 1961.” Upon graduation, she enrolled at Saginaw Business Institute, achieving a degree in Physical Therapy and later employed her skills at St. Mary’s Hospital until she retired.

Sylvia accepted the Lord at an early age. She was a founding and faithful member of Messiah Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on their mission board and many other committees until her illness.

In Sylvia’s spare time she enjoyed cooking, gardening and family gatherings and dinners. She learned to make peach cobbler liker her mom and many other dishes. Her sweet spirit and beautiful presence will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, John Casey and Mary Ressie Jones; great-nephew, Christian J. McCants.

She leaves to cherish her memory three brothers, Hall B. (Beverly) Jones, Buena Vista, Michigan, Raymond F. (Ann) Jones, Carrollton, Michigan, William G. (Dorothy) Jones, Saginaw, Michigan; niece, Raeann V. Jones, Carrollton, Michigan; aunts, Delia Smith, Bowie, Maryland, Catherine Hall, Saginaw, Michigan; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
