Darrell Decarlo Harris, Sr. "Dirty Harry"

Mr. Darrell Decarlo Harris, Sr. passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper. Age 56 years. He was born on November 25, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois to Leeshone Harris and Helen Lockett Harris.

Darrell, known as “Dirty Harry,” was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan; he grew up on South 13th Street. Darrell received his diploma in 1989, having completed the requirements for his GED. He loved family gatherings, playing chess, lifting weights, eating pig feet, dancing and joking around. He enjoyed helping people and reading his Bible. Darrell accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was united with Transforming Life Ministries under the leadership of Pastors William and Laura Brown. Darrell was employed by General Motors (Saginaw Power Train) and was a member of United Auto Workers. He was dearly loved and will be missed by family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memory his lifelong companion and fiancée, Ronda Jackson, Saginaw, Michigan; nineteen daughters and seventeen sons, Gloria (Derrick) Williams, Darrell Jr. (Felisha) Harris, Crystal (Micheal) Nash, Chakinna (James) Woolfolk, LaShawn Hudson, Tae Lee, Terrell, Charnelle and Eddie Mayes, Sokyida Hunt, Samuel, Marquavis, Darterrion, Shandia, Zhane and Keifon Jackson, Saginaw, Michigan; Tamela Brodnex, II, Solomon, Darron, Jeremiah, Danielson, Whitley and Damion Harris, Tyson Johnson, Ebony Taylor, Dominique and Dominic Wilson, and many more; one godson, Travoy Santos; goddaughter, Alexis Reed; many special grandchildren and great-grandchildren including O.G. Neveah Jackson; his mother, Helen Lockett Harris Bailey; three sisters, Genita (Claude) Wills, Simone (Fred) Harris, Shantrelle Harris; four brothers, Morris and Deven of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Avery Harris, Saginaw, Michigan, Ivory Winters, Houston, Texas; many nieces and nephews; special nieces, Tinesha Lee and ShaFeka Harris; god-brother, Robert Simmons; two special brothers-in-law, Claude Wills and Phillip Taylor; special nephew, Jason Harris; godmother, Ernestine Baker; two best friends, Thomas Wicker and Dennis Crayton; his wife, Barbara Harris, Memphis, Tennessee.

Darrell was preceded in death by his father, Leeshone Harris; brother, Jeffery Harris; sister, Alesha Lee; grandparents, Charlie and Annie B. Lockett; niece, Celestine Harris; stepfather, Chester Bailey.
