Darius Martell Simmons (Lansing)

Our angel, Mr. Darius Martell Simmons, returned home to God on Sunday, May 24th, 2015 at the age of 21 years. Darius was born July 4th, 1993 in Lansing, Michigan to Charles Steven Simmons and Tamiko Lea Terry.
Darius grew up in Lansing, Michigan and graduated from Everett High School in 2011. His future plans included attending Lansing Community College. Darius was a special young man and to know him was to love him. His aunt would always say that he had a smile that could light up the darkest night. He had a loving spirit that transcended through the special bond he had with his daughter Dalaya. Darius was a very proud father who was most content when he was spending time with his daughter and they would often be found napping together.
He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory his daughter, Dalaya; his love, Chanteal Armstrong, his mother, Tamiko (Erick) Terry; his father, Charles (Carrie) Simmons; his brothers, Monte, Charles Jr, Keondree and Martez; sisters, Miaya and Jalen; grandmothers, Judy Terry and Yvonne Cox; great-grandmothers, Virginia Terry and Jessie Jameson; special cousins, Donte, Darniko, Diego, Kyeole, Brandy, Toni, Bronwyn, Selina, Melissa, and Nyhre as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins other relatives and friends
Darius was preceded in death by his grandfather Elton Hatley, his great-grandfather, Marshall Terry, his great-grandmother, Mattie Atwater, uncle, Douglass Terry and a special friend, Richard Slicc Pruitt.
