Claude Baldwin (Lansing)

Mr. Claude Baldwin passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at his residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 80 years. He was born January 10,1941, in Aberdeen, North Carolina to parents, Bobby Baldwin and Karah Addison.

Claude Arthur graduated high school in his hometown and then moved to Lansing, Michigan in 1965.

He accepted Christ at an early age. Claude was a dedicated member of Friendship House of Prayer Baptist Church where he proudly served as a trustee, a member of the Building and Grounds Committee, and President of the Ushers Board.

Claude retired from General Motors’ Fisher Body plant, where he worked for over 30 years. He loved to travel, listen to good music, playing cards, and talking trash. Claude enjoyed sports; his favorite team was the Chicago Bulls but would watch any of the games.

Those who really knew Claude called him Arthur or “Gent”. He was a man of integrity and strength. He was loving yet stern and did not tolerate a mess.

Claude leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Ricky Jones of Aberdeen, North Carolina and Christopher Baldwin of Lansing, Michigan; daughters, Priscilla (Charlie) Wike of Hinesville, Georgia, Sheila Baldwin of Lansing, Michigan, Sharon Carter of Lansing, Michigan, and Anita (Gerald) Ford of Euclid, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; grandparents, Omah Lee and Timus Pattishaw; and many other close friends and family including longtime partner, Patricia McGruder.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, LaQuita Baldwin; mother, Karah Addison; father, Bobby Baldwin; brother, William Cecil Baldwin; and step-father, George Addison.
