Charles J. Collins Sonny Boy passed away suddenly Thursday, March 28, 2013 at his residence. Age 66 years. He was born April 4, 1946 in Saginaw, Michigan to Charles and Ruby L. Collins.
Charles was a graduate of Saginaw High School class of 1964. After high school he enlisted with the United States Air Force and served four years of active duty. After returning from the Air Force, he worked a number of years at Wickes Boiler as a welder. Charles was a die-hard Michigan and Lions fan - win or lose. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his longtime companion, Susie Kittles; one son, Leaundre Jackson; father, Charles Collins Sr.; four sisters, Theresa Marshall, Saginaw, Michigan, Elaine Womack, Denise Walker and Renee Jones, all of Cleveland, Ohio; two brothers, James Porter, Saginaw, Michigan, Terrance (Janice) Collins, Cleveland, Ohio; aunt, Ruby Gary; seven nieces, Aiesha Little, Cincinnati, Ohio, Tara Turner, Saginaw, Michigan, Trina, Fatima, Nicky, Tia, Ania; ten nephews, Mark A. and Darviette Collins, Clarksville, Tennessee, Wesley Porter, Columbus, Ohio, Jonathan, Quan, Tyrone, Kevin, Quinten and Chip, all of Cleveland, Ohio, Ervin Haulcy, Saginaw, Michigan; great-nieces, Angel, Akira, Alex, Brittany, Auntisha, RonNishaand Allanah; great-nephews, Mark, Derrick, Devontae, Trevon, David and Darquan; many other relatives and friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby L. Collins, sisters, Rosa Lee Collins, Vanessa J. Turner and Angie Collins.
